| New FP-7 project for AOES: WASIS - 28-Feb-2011 |
|
From February 2011, AOES is involved in another FP-7 project: WASIS. WASIS stands for Wafer design Approach for Safety Increasing in worst case Situations minimizing joints. The project deals with the design, analysis and testing of an integrally stiffened composite fuselage section using a geodesic lattice approach for the stiffeners.
The project team for this project consists of 12 parties from 9 different European countries. Coordinator of the project is Cidaut, a research centre from Spain.
The role of AOES will be analysis and trade off of different material and design concepts for the fuselages using FEM, as well as validation of the models using test results.
The total duration of the project is 4 years. AOES’s involvement will be mainly in the second part of 2011 and at the end of the project (Q3/Q4 2014)
