AOES BV is involved in EU-FP7 research projects:
- HPH.com
The Helicon Plasma Hydrazine.combined micro is a collaborative project that joins researches from Europe, Russia and Ukraine. The aim of the project is to develop a space plasma thruster based on helicon antennas. The great innovation of this technology lies on its extreme scalability, that allows it to be used both in the field of small pushes for position control and satellite-formations attitude, and for the primary propulsion for interplanetary probes. The uniqueness of the project lies in developing an engine that can operate in high-efficiency / low-thrust with only plasma and plasma-hydrazine in the way of low-efficiency / high-thrust. In this particular area is one of the most extensive and ambitious so far conducted all over the world, and the unique of such a large scale ever undertaken in Europe.
- GASMEMS
GASMEMS is a European training network for young researchers in the field of rarefied Gas Flows in Micro Electro Mechanical Systems. The project has been prepared and leaded by experts that work at universities and companies from ten European countries. The main project goals are:
-
To structure research in Europe in the field of micro gas flows to improve global fundamental knowledge and enable technological applications to an industrial and commercial level.
-
To train early stage and experienced researchers at a pan-European level.
- LAPCAT II

- CLEAN SKY
The project will focus on a detailed investigation of weld zones in stiffened fuselage panels under compression and shear loads. The project will be done in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institut IWS in Dresden, who are specialized in laser welding.
