AOES has for many years been delivering engineering support services to the aircraft Industry, and in particular to EADS/AIRBUS.

At the time when the aircraft industry embarks on a major R&D effort under the EU's 7th Framework Programme, AOES aircraft engineering expertise and synergy with space engineering work can contribute to reaching the overall goals of more efficient materials and structures, cleaner, more efficient engines, reduced noise, lower costs and better design methods.

At this moment, AOES is already involved in multiple FP7 programs, including a Clean Sky project aiming to optimize Fuselage design, in collaboration with the Fraunhofer IWS Dresden. For more information on this project see also EU Research.

AOES engineers provide their engineering services at all phases of aircraft projects  ranging from feasibility studies and the (pre)-design phase up to certification. Activities of AOES engineers in the aircraft engineering sector include:

  • Design and analysis of structures
  • Stress analysis, structural dynamics
  • Thermal analysis
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Test definition and support
  • Compilation and preparation of certification documents
